What a real "Smoothie Bowl" looks like, AKA Fruit Salad
February 6, 2022

For the past year I have seen many videos and posts showing the latest "healthy" trend, smoothie bowls. And for some reason this always irked me because, to me, it looks nothing like a smoothie and more like ice cream, or even sorbet, which is just basically blended fruit with some kind of sweetener.
Smoothies are like shakes. They're supposed to be smooth and much less thick. They are supposed to be drinkable. If you're going to put something in a bowl, put a makeshift smoothie like I did as shown above. I took the essential ingredients of a basic smoothie and mixed them up.
I literally just made a fruit salad!
I used to make fruit salad with yogurt, but then I was diagnosed with lactose intolerance and tried using dairy free yogurts, but let's face it, they just aren't as good. I somewhat gave up on making real fruit salad and just made a fruit bowl until I tried something.
I found a product on the shelves in Sprouts Farmer's Market and have enjoyed it every single time. It's called Coco Whip:

This product has my husband, who is not even slightly afraid of dairy, drooling. He is the cheesiest person I've ever met which is saying something because the last person I knew who loved cheese and always needed more was my sister.
My husband swears by this product. He has said time and time again that he actually prefers this to regular ice cream. So Delicious product definitely holds true to it's name.
I have to say, this is the most delicious tasting fruit salad that I have ever had and I will always make it like this until the day I die.
Here's my recipe for "Smoothie Bowl" AKA "Fruit Salad:"
1 honeycrisp apple
1 pear
blackberries
raspberries
strawberries
3-4 TBSP-sized scoops of So Delicious Coco Whip
drizzle of honey
Scoop Coco Whip into a bowl.
Chop up the fruit, leaving the blackberries and raspberries whole.
Drizzle honey on top and mix all together.
Enjoy!
