Happy National Butterscotch Brownie Day!

Hi guys! Can any of you bring up an image of a butterscotch brownie without looking it up? I couldn't. When I heard about this day I was confused because I thought we had already done a day like this. I had to look up what these brownies were to check if I had the right thing in mind. Turns out I did-sort of. Butterscotch brownies are exactly like blondies except for the fact that they have butterscotch chips in them, and nuts. I am not a huge fan of nuts. Aside from that, here is the recipe to my blondies and you can add the nuts and butterscotch chips if you want.
GF & DF Blonde Brownies
Ingredients:
2/3 cup Holsum Pure Vegetable shortening, melted
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups brown rice flour
1/4 cup tapioca starch
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup walnuts, pecans, almonds, peanuts, or whatever nuts you like in your food
*Sidenote:* These are the only dairy-free and gluten-free butterscotch chips I could find.
Lieber's (found on Amazon)
King David's (found here: http://oppenheimerusa.com/Product1626_--King-David--Butterscotch-Chips.aspx and also at Walmart)
Chocolate Emporium ( https://chocolate-emporium.com/product/butterscotch-chocolate-chips/ )
Instructions:
Melt the shortening in the microwave one two 30 second cycles until completely liquid.
In a large mixing bowl combine the shortening and brown sugar. Add the eggs one at a time and then add the vanilla. Mix Well.
In a medium bowl combine the flour, starch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add half of the dry mixture to the liquid and stir until completely incorporated. Add the last half and mix thoroughly.
Spread the mixture into a lightly greased 9x13 glass pan. The amount may seem small and thin, but it will rise and need that space to cook evenly. (Don't be a dummy like me who put the batch into a 5x8 small pan.)
Bake at 350 degrees fahrenheit for 25 minutes.
Happy baking!
